LEADERSHIP TEAM
John-Mark Bell is a seasoned and innovative nonprofit leader with over a decade of experience in executive leadership, operational efficiency, resource development, and public policy. After living in more than a dozen states, John-Mark finally settled down and grafted his roots in South Carolina, where he now lives with his partner of 22 years. Together, they have served as both foster and biological parents to more than 20 incredible children, which serves as a constant reminder and source of inspiration to build a better place for future generations. Professionally, John-Mark has held transformative leadership roles, including tenures as the Executive Director of AmeriCorps, Interim President of South Carolina United Way, and several other senior positions that provided opportunities to serve vulnerable and at-risk populations. This work includes developing multimillion-dollar funding streams, designing local programs, shaping large-scale public policy, and driving organizational strategies for both nonprofit and federal initiatives. When he’s not working, John-Mark can usually be found outside, battling nature as it tries to reclaim the old family property. And when he’s not holding a chainsaw, you can usually find him catching frogs or trying to talk a turtle out of her shell — oftentimes, quite unsuccessfully.
