Originally from New Jersey, Nicole’s early interest in herpetofauna was fostered mainly through nature documentaries. After completing a B.S. in Ecology and Evolution at Western Carolina University, she worked on several amphibian and reptile conservation projects for federal and state agencies around the country before pursuing her M.S. at the University of Connecticut with research focused on amphibian disease epidemics. After grad school, Nicole returned to Florida to work with her beloved frosted flatwoods salamanders as a Biologist with ARC. Outside of work, she can often be found rock climbing, or attempting some variety of home improvement project – with varying degrees of success.
