Have you ever enjoyed watching a turtle amble by? How about being amazed by the frenzy of fast-moving legs as a lizard scurried across your path or being soothed by a chorus of calling frogs?
For many of us, these kinds of encounters with reptiles and amphibians are synonymous with our love of the outdoors. The beautiful and fascinating species that share the world with us provide accessible ways to connect with nature. They spark our curiosity, inspire us to feel awe, and tap into our sense of wonder.
Plus, we receive evidence-based benefits from time with these species in nature, including improved mood, lower stress, and increased attention. Not only do they impact our emotional well-being, but as critical members of the ecosystems they inhabit, they provide us with invaluable services that make life possible. Wildlife and ecosystems give us clean water and air, medicines, climate regulation, flood control, and much more.
Because they give us so much, let’s give back to amphibians and reptiles on Giving Tuesday. Giving can take many forms. Here are some ways you can help amphibians and reptiles on Giving Tuesday:
Donate to ARC’s nationwide amphibian and reptile conservation work.
Encourage friends and family to give back by sharing an ARC Giving Tuesday campaign post on social media or a campaign email.
If you have a yard, plan to create some healthy amphibian and reptile habitat.
Volunteer for a local habitat restoration project.
Giveaway Tuesday Game Contests
Giving is a two-way street. We appreciate your support and want to show our appreciation by giving back to you through a series of Giveaway Tuesday game contests for prizes.
On Giving Tuesday, November 28, we will challenge you to solve amphibian and reptile puzzles, answer trivia questions, and more through a series of social media posts and emails. Tune in to our Instagram, Facebook, and X accounts and our e-newsletter, The ARC’ives.
For the most chances to win, be sure to follow all of our social media accounts and subscribe to The ARC’ives e-newsletter. Game contests on each platform will be unique.
Participants who answer Giveaway Tuesday game contests correctly and most quickly will receive fun prizes, including prints of original amphibian artwork, t-shirts, koozies, stickers, and coloring books.
Contest Rules
Participation in Giveaway Tuesday is free, and anyone age 13 or older in the United States is eligible to participate. ARC employees and their families are not eligible to participate. To enter, follow the instructions for submitting your answers in the game contest social media posts and emails on November 28. The number and kinds of prizes available for each game contest will vary and will be specified in game contest social media posts and emails. Participants who answer correctly will receive prizes on a first come, first served basis based on the time stamp of their responses. Winners will be notified by December 1, 2023. Winners who enter on social media will be notified by direct message on the platform on which they entered, and winners who enter through The ARC’ives e-newsletter will be notified by email. Winners will be asked to provide their mailing addresses, and prizes will be mailed no later than two weeks after Giving Tuesday.
